The Pentz family has its roots deep in the fertile Cape soil. From Tokai to Blouberg and on to Darling. Grandpa Nico Pentz and Peter Pentz, a third generation dairy man, enlarged the family dairy business to such an extent that more ground was required for the herd. The farm- Flamingo Vlei was purchased for grazing. As it turned out Flamingo Vlei was to become the families first development - being more suitable for human habitation than for dairy cows! Peter's dad had a view that you only purchase ground that has a view of Table Mountain so off they went and Purchased Groote Post farm. Peter ceased dairy farming after winning the National Farmer of the year award in 1999 and the World Dairy International Person of the Year in 2001. Peter and eldest son Nick Pentz then started focusing the farming enterprise on wine. Nick has grown the Groote Post label into an international success story and as they say in the classics, the rest is history.

Whilst the grapes where maturing in the vineyards, Peter focused on property development. From 1993 the family has developed multiple residential and commercial units. The property enterprise is headed up by the younger brother Wouter Pentz who has been managing Pentz properties for the last ten years. Under his steady guiding hand the Pentz Property portfolio has grown into a well managed assets base.

Wouter has teamed up with partner Viljoen de Kock and together are now focused on growing Pentz Properties and as most property investors are exiting the market, Pentz Properties is taking a long term view and further consolidating its position.
